Derek D. Decker began his interest in clay during his studies wile attending IPFW in Fort Wayne, IN. After obtaining his B.F.A. in sculpture from IPFW in 2006, Derek further expanded his knowledge of hand made tiles, mosaics, and fireplace surrounds while studying as an apprentice at The Morovian Pottery and Tile Works Company in Doylestown, Pa.
     
 
 
 
 
 

Derek's love of design led him to making and exploring the ways in which tiles can be made through variations of texture and surface treatments of the medium.

Various processes and techniques are used to create each individual tile, which are all made by hand. Due to the nature of this process, variations will occur in each individual piece.
